Polk County, FL Sheriff's Deputy Vernon "Matt" Williams and his K-9 partner "Diogi" were killed in the line of duty on September 28th, 2006.

Deputy Williams is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.

Thomas Wood
Maywood, IL Police K-9 Handler Thomas Wood was killed in the line of duty on October 23rd, 2006. His partner was not wounded.

Officer Wood is survived by his wife, two children, and three stepchildren.
